Successful test of graphene resistance standard at BIPM

The Bureau International des Poids and Mesures, which coordinates the worldwide measurement system, has experimented with graphene quantum Hall devices developed within the GIQS project by PTB. BIPM acknowledges the advantages of graphene devices respect to semiconductor ones, and is planning a transition towards a permanent use of graphene devices as a basis of BIPM services in electrical metrology.
