CALIDENA was developed by the Technical Cooperation of Germany’s National Metrology Institute PTB to support the development of the quality infrastructure in developing and transformation countries.
The term quality infrastructure refers to services related to metrology, standardization, testing, quality management and to compliance evaluation - all relevant for assuring the quality of products for both national consumers and export markets.
CALIDENA was designed to adjust the supply of quality services to the real demand of companies, particularly SMEs.
So far CALIDENA has been applied in several countries in Central America (Costa Rica, Guatemala and Nicaragua).
CALIDENA is a PTB methodology developed with the support of the knowledge firm mesopartner.
