- Development of tools for reliable determination of task specific measurement uncertainty (e.g. by numerical simulation) in industry. This will include research on virtual instruments.
- Development of cooperative reference standards and calibration methods to assess the parameters of different sensors and to link the coordinate systems of the different sensors together, with reduced and established uncertainty.
