BAM is a world-leading centre of excellence for “Safety in technology and chemistry”. Uniquely positioned at the interface of science, technology, industry and politics, BAM integrates research, assessment and consultation in material sciences, materials engineering and chemistry under one umbrella. BAM has been involved in more than 50 FP7/H2020 projects as well as in several EMPIR projects including coordination (e.g. 17NRM04 nPSize and 16RPT02 ALCOREF). Division 8.3 “Radiological Methods” develops, applies, validates and certifies radiological methods that employ X-ray and gamma radiation and is also concerned with modelling and simulation of radiological testing and measurement methods, as well as in development of standards for radiographic analysis including the determination of the focal spot size for X-ray tubes. BAM is the project coordinator and will contribute to work packages WP1, WP3, WP4, WP5, and WP6.
