WP 4: Creating Impact

The aim of this WP is the widest possible distribution of the gained knowledge from the technical WPs.

Public outreach

This project combines two often very separate research communities (analytical and medical). To both the gained knowledge will be disseminated through publications in journals and presentations at conferences. Information exchange with industry (manufacturers of in vitro diagnostic medical devices) and healthcare providers will take place. One of the instruments supporting the latter point is the advisory board which will be in regular contact with the project partners by different means (meetings, newsletter etc.). At least one workshop related to the project will be organised at an international conference to include a wider audience.

Since the project launched in July 2017 the partners presented a number of posters at national and international conferences and gave a number of presentations. Subjects of the talks and posters were from all three practical work packages ranging from total element determination to protein enrichment and production of isotopically enriched metalloproteins. At the 6th International Symposium on Metallomics one focus was the application of methods based on plasma spectrometry in AD research.

Outreach to standardisation bodies

The project progress will be presented at meetings of different standard bodies such as CCQM Working Group on Protein Analysis (PAWG), Bundesärztekammer (German Medical Association), CCQM- Working Group on Inorganic Analysis (IAWG), JCTLM and EURAMET TC-MC. It has already be presented at the EURAMET meeting Feb 2017 as well as at the JCTLM stakeholder workshop in Dec 2017.

Others

Participation in an interlaboratory comparison organised for clinical routine laboratory by a reference laboratory is planned for the major AD markers using methods developed during the project.

Methods / standard operation procedures developed during the project will be made available to interested parties via this website.
