The MagNaStand project has been successfully finalized

When the MagNaStand project came to its end in May 2020, the main project objectives had been fulfilled. The first ISO standard on magnetic nanomaterials, ISO 19807-1, had been published already in June 2019. The MagNaStand project has strongly contributed to this first international standardization document for magnetic nanomaterials. In our work, we could greatly benefit from fruitful discussions with many scientists and industrial representatives. While it was important to take up the opinions of European experts into the international standardization process, we shared also our achievements and insights with the public in a number of scientific publications.

The MagNaStand project contributes to new international documentary standards

The MagNaStand project is developing new measurement approaches for the properties of magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) and products containing nanoparticles and feeds these into the international standardisation process. After half of the project time has elapsed in November 2018, EURAMET has summarized the project progress so far.  Read more under Opens external link in current windowthis link.

MagNaStand 2nd Stakeholder Workshop

Date:      27 November, 2018

Venue:    National Physical Laboratory

               TW11 0LW
               Globe Room, Bushy House

MagNaStand is a new EURAMET EMPIR project targeted at supporting the introduction of new ISO standards for magnetic nanoparticles and products containing magnetic nanoparticles.
The project will run from 2017-2020. The main tasks of the project are:

  • Coherent and standardised characterisation of magnetic nanoparticles
  • Transmission of results from previous and running EU projects concerned with standardisation aspects of magnetic nanoparticles
  • Preparation of ISO „Metrological checklists“ for characterisation of magnetic nanoparticles
  • Interaction with industrial end-users of magnetic nanoparticles and contribution to ISO/TC229 in preparation of ISO standards

The workshop will provide European stakeholders engaged in magnetic nanoparticle production and application with information about the state and consequences of standardisation of magnetic nanoparticles and about the possibilities to participate and to represent their interests in the standardisation process.
