Webinar „E-Health: Data Management & Cloud Computing”

Kolloquium der Abteilung 8

E-health provides an emerging field for exchanging health data and services through the internet for interaction and collaboration among institutions, health professionals, companies and the public. In a broader sense, the term characterizes not only a technical development, but also a new attitude, and a way of thinking for a networked approach to improve health care by using information and communication technology. In this webinar, we will discuss e-health from different directions and application areas. Prof. Björn Bergh will give an introduction into the broad field by discussing the potential impact on healthcare while addressing challenges such as data security. Prof. Derek Hill will describe from a commercial perspective the use of new technologies for the efficient organization of multi-centre trials. Prof. Titus Kühne will discuss a non-commercial a data management and cloud computing system to improve care and education on an international level.
The webinar will be limited to 50 connected computers and thus require a registration to receive a web-link. However, multiple users can use one computer to follow the seminar. We will use the adobe-connect platform through the DFN (Deutsches Forschungsnetz). Adobe Connect is a platform-independent web-conferencing system. It requires a good Internet connection and a web browser (such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome) to attend the meeting. Video will be limited to the presenters. Therefore microphone and webcam won’t be required for participants. However, participants are encouraged to submit questions during the presentations via text, which will be addressed in the discussion section.
