It is our great pleasure to invite you to a Training Course on Dosimetry and Emergency Preparedness, to be held at EEAE in Athens, Greece, from 18th to 21st September 2023.
The Training Course was developed within the project 19NET03 supportBSS, the European Metrology Network for Radiation Protection and will be organized by the EURADOS WG02 Harmonization of Individual Monitoring in Europe, together with EEAE in Athens.
This educational and training event is supported by the project 19NET03 supportBSS, the European Metrology Network for Radiation Protection and its partner the Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz (BfS) and the UK Health Security Agency (UK HSA).
The project 19NET03 supportBSS has received funding from the EMPIR programme co-financed by the Participating States and from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
The general organization is done by Oliver Hupe, PTB.
The aim of the course is to cover the theoretical background of handling emergencies and to expand it with practical measurement exercises.
This training course will consist of 3 days of lectures and discussions in combination with one day of practical exercises in small groups of 5 persons. Lecturers from different European institutes will present various topics from different perspectives.
Intended audience:
The course is intended for all stakeholders in radiation protection and emergency preparedness and first responders.

The Greek Atomic Energy Commission (EEAE) is the national competent authority for radiation and nuclear safety and security, as well as for the protection of the public, workers and the environment from ionizing and artificially produced non‑ionizing radiation. Within this framework EEAE, among its other activities, provides and ensures:
- the education and training of occupationally exposed workers in the fields where ionizing and non‑ionizing radiation is used (for example medicine, industry, research, telecommunications et cetera).
- the enhancement of safety culture in the country.

- Regular fee1: 650 euro
- Reduced fee2: 580 euro
The registration fee will cover lunches, coffee breaks, a social dinner.
A limited number of places is available that are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
- 1 The fee is exclusive VAT. 7 % VAT will be added for invoices to participants from Germany and from EU member states who cannot provide us with their VAT-ID number.
