Zusammenfassung: Conventional instrument transformers feature secondary quantities in the order of 100 V and 5 A or 1 A, whereas in the electronic combined transformer investigated the output is in the order of a few Volt for both the voltage and the current range. Information on the primary quantities is generated at high voltage, digitized, sent to ground potential via optical fibers, and converted into analogue voltage. At PTB, existing calibration equipment is designed neither for the low voltage level nor for the large phase displacement resulting from the optical transmission. Hence a voltage transformer test set is used which measures both the voltages of the electronic transformer and of the standard by sampling technique and calculates their difference digitally. The test set itself is calibrated using a programmable two-channel AC voltage source. The minimum uncertainties (k = 2) are less than 0,002 % and 0,005 crad even in presence of a phase displacement as high as several crad.
