The PTB's libraries have verified all their journal collections (past and on-going subscriptions) in Germany's nationwide journal database (
ZDB). For the PTB library in Braunschweig (library identifier (ISIL) DE-BS 68), 3247 journals have been verified, for the PTB library in Berlin (ISIL DE-B 108) there are 602 titles. Like other libraries, the libraries of PTB have also been forced to cancel subscriptions to individual journals every year, so that expenditure does not exceed the available budget funds. The number of on-going subscriptions still kept up for printed journals and the number of licensed e-journals is therefore continually falling.
