In 2002, he moved to the "Thermometry" laboratory at PTB's Berlin Institute. From January 2008, he headed the "Applied Thermometry" group and from January 2018 the "Temperature" department. During his successful scientific career, with guest scientist stays in the USA and China, Dr. Steffen Rudtsch became a world-renowned expert and highly esteemed colleague in the field of thermometry. His research contributed to the further development of the International Temperature Scale ITS-90 and new measurement methods in thermometry with numerous publications and book contributions. In 1999, he was awarded the Netzsch Prize of the European Conference on Thermophysical Properties. He was highly involved in peer reviews and in numerous national and international committees such as DAkkS, DKD, DKE, DIN, IMEKO, COOMET, EURAMET and CCT.
