Recent advancements in magnetic nanoparticle imaging using Magnetorelaxometry and particle Electron Paramagnetic Resonance

Kolloquium der Abteilung 8

In this presentation I will talk about two promising techniques for visualizing the magnetic nanoparticle (MNP) distribution, namely Magnetorelaxometry (MRX) and particle Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (pEPR). I will briefly explain MRX and give an overview of recent modelling work we performed in order to improve MNP reconstructions using this technique. An example is the use of statistical parameters in MRX modelling to allow quantitative comparison between different MRX models. The second part of the talk is about pEPR, a new imaging technique developed together with the Belgian company PEPRIC. In this part I focus on the extension of pEPR from a sensitive MNP amount detector to a sensitive and fast 3D imaging technique.
