Metrology for Digital Transformation

Department 9.4
Neuronale Netze

Tasks

Projects and plans in the area of digitisation are strongly interdisciplinary. Therefore, the implementation of these projects often requires novel approaches to project organisation. For example, the realisation of a continuous digital workflow for metrological services requires an agile project approach since it is now well understood within the field of computer engineering that the full, accurate and unambiguous requirements are rarely known at the start of a project.

In the same way, the implementation of a future-proof research data management system at PTB is a task that none of the specialist departments can carry out alone. In particular, the high pace of change of external influencing factors and the complexity of the projects bring the existing division of labour and project organisation to their limits.

The department “Metrology for the Digital Transformation” supports and complements PTB’s activities in the field of digitisation via targeted cooperation projects and pilots. In doing so, the department actively integrates the competences of the other departments into the project implementation process and thus allows for a flexible and agile way of working.
