A Monte Carlo procedure for the numerical calculation of measurement uncertainties has been introduced in a recently published supplement to the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement. In order to keep the numerical effort of this procedure manageable, an adaptive calculation scheme has been developed and successfully verified by simulations. The new calculation scheme ensures with a high reliability that a prescribed numerical accuracy is reached. Measurement uncertainties can now be accurately determined with far less numerical effort using the Monte Carlo method.
