ECG diagnostic biomarker research for clinical study application

10/2006 - 04/2007

The ECG signal pattern comparison process, which was developed by PTB, represents a new approach to the assessment of the impact of drugs on the heart; it allows in particular an assessment of a cardiologic interaction of drugs towards diagnostic findings. Within the scope of this project a first investigation of the suitability of this process has been carried out on the basis of a clinical study of the drug moxifloxacin. As a result, the process developed by PTB supplied evidence for the administration of moxifloxacin whereby the cardiologic modifications were classified as non-pathological. The conclusion is that PTB's procedure has been proven suitable in this study and shall be further investigated on the basis of studies with other drugs.
