Cryosensor Measuring Techniques

Working Group 7.61

Profile

The working group Cryosensor Measuring Techniques develops instrumentation that employs superconducting sensors and detectors for a wide range of precision measurements in metrology, basic research and applied sciences. The measurement systems employ Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID) based sensors as well as superconducting Transition Edge Sensors (TESs) or Metallic Magnetic Calorimeters (MMCs) as detectors of radiation or particles. Application examples are low-temperature thermometry, quantum radiometry in the optical and near-infrared wavelength range and radionuclide metrology. Furthermore, the working group is active in the field of standardization of superconducting sensors and detectors.
