Dosimetry for Brachytherapy reorganized at PTB

Calibrations for radiation sources of low and high activity (i.e. 125I low-dose-rate (LDR) sources and 192Ir and 60Co high-dose-rate (HDR) sources) as well as for well-type ionization chambers are still performed. The current contacts are listed on PTB’s website [1].

Current research focuses firstly on the transition from the reference air kerma rate (RAKR) at a 100 cm distance from the source, for the determination of the absorbed dose rate to water at a 1 cm distance from the source, i.e. the determination of the Λ-factor [2]. Secondly, the measurement and simulation of the spatial dose distribution is aimed at in clinically relevant radiation fields [3].
