Duoplasmatron ion sources

To top

The high-intensity ion currents are produced by two duoplasmatron ion sources.

An electron beam in a gas in the presence of a magnetic field produces a stable gas discharge from which the ions are extracted.

Source 1 / Model 358

  • direct negative extraction for protons H- and deuterons D-
  • H-  100 µA   /   D-  80 µA

Source 2 / Model 358

  • direct negative extraction for protons H- and deuterons D-, positive extraction for helium ions He- after charge changing channel
