This report is intended for manufacturers and assessors of technical X-ray devices in terms of Annex 2 No. 2, 3, 4 and 6 of the "Ordinance on the Protection against Damages caused by X-rays".

The compilation of construction requirements of safety devices of basic-protection devices, high-protection devices, full-protection devices and school X-ray devices takes the wish of manufacturers into account to receive a detailed description of the requirements and of the underlying safety concepts to be able to consider these requirements at an early stage in the construction of new X-ray devices. Moreover, the document shall serve as a working basis for the cooperation between the PTB and assessors.
