R&D project

Testing of area measuring 3D micro measurement procedures for dimensional measurement tasks

Period of the project

Start: August 2013
End:  February 2015

Description of the project

The aim of the project is a wider industrial use of optical 3D micro area measuring systems by improving the testing of the measuring systems. Investigated are the measuring methods, confocal microscopy, white light interferometry and focus variation. For this the new ISO 10360-8 provides first opportunity for acceptance and confirmation tests of optical area measuring instruments comparable to existing methods for tactile coordinate measuring machines.

The two-year project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) in a program for the promotion of quality infrastructure of small and medium enterprises in the region measuring, standardization, testing and quality assurance (MSTQ).
