Hardness test methods
VickersBrinell (DIN EN ISO 6506)
Principle:
A hardmetal ball with diameter D is pressed vertically into the sample surface by means of the test force F , and the indent diameter d, which is created on the test surface after test force has been removed, is measured. The lengths of the two diameters d1 und d2 of the remaining test indent are measured.

Force-diameter ratio:
The force-diameter ratio has to be selected according to the hardness of the material to be tested.
The values B = 30; 10; 5; 2,5; 1 are standardized.
