Two color interference microscope

Technical principle

In difference to usual interference microscopes who work with only one light source and one determined frequency range of wavelength the two color interference microscope works with two light sources with different ranges of wavelength. This provides two scales with 530 nm (green light) and 630 nm (red light) graduation to determine the surface. The mean advantage is to detect  phase jumps and the possibility to calculate direction (positive or negative) and jump height in a limited range.


In PTB a mechanical prototype was build. Electronical controlling and controlling software as well as analysis software are developed soon.
