EMPIR project ‘Metrology to air pollutant emissions’ (16ENV08-IMPRESS2)

01.10.2019

Emission limit values (ELV) for important air pollutants are becoming stricter in European guidelines, which demands for monitoring. Background of the work in WG 3.42 is the application of direct tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (dTDLAS) for emission monitoring in cross-stack analyzers. A measurement facility was set up for this purpose, which enables the measurement of HCl concentrations under relevant temperature and gas matrix conditions. In order to fulfill the sensitivity requirements of the regulations, the developed HCL spectrometer uses an interband cascade laser with an emission wavelength of 3,9 µm.
