Considering the anthropogenic air pollution by emission of nitrogen-dioxide (NO2), working group 3.22 participates in the EMPIR project MetNO2. This project has set the development and characterization of novel NO2 reference gas standards, as well as measurement techniques for the direct measurement of NO2 as its main objectives. The newly developed NO2 metrology shall improve the reliability of future NO2 monitoring data. For the project working group 3.22 develops a selective FTIR measurement technique for NO2 and possible impurities in reference gas standards. The method shall be used for characterization of standards. Furthermore, and to apply the method, sectral line parameters of NO2 will be determined by 3.22.
