Profile
The tasks of the working group are legally regulated and industrial metrology. The background to this is on the one hand the reliability of the transmission of electrical energy from the generator to the consumer and on the other hand the precise calculation of the energy consumption at high voltages and currents.
Research/Development
The working group researches and develops new measurement methods, automated measurement data acquisition and measurement devices in the fields of conventional and non-conventional measurement transformers as well as high-voltage measurement and generation devices. Furthermore, the working group participates in current topics of instrument transformer and high voltage technology in the context of national and international research projects. Part of this is technical cooperation with other countries to set up or improve metrology.
Services
The service area of the working group includes tests and calibrations of high-voltage measuring devices, instrument transformers, converter measuring devices, burdens, and burden measuring devices for the accredited test centers for measuring devices for electricity and other applicants. Furthermore, the support of test centers for measuring devices for electricity and the accredited calibration laboratories of the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) is the responsibility of the working group.
