Investigation of electromagnetic wave propagation in the THz frequency range

Investigation of electromagnetic wave propagation in the THz frequency range

The increasing demand for free and unregulated bandwidth will require the operation of future communication systems a very high frequencies of 300 GHz and above. Within the framework of the Terahertz Communication Lab, a cooperation with Technical University Braunschweig, the working group 2.21 is conducting research on the fundamentals of THz communications. The design of such communication systems requires the knowledge of the channel properties. In working group 2.21 the wave propagation in indoor environments is investigated with regard to attenuation, reflexion, defration and scattering. In addition to this, measurement on digital signal parameters are performed during signal transmission experiments at THz frequencies.
