Shock acceleration standard measuring device 5000 m/s² (shock acceleration standard I)

Working Group 1.71

This shock acceleration standard is the national standard for the realization of the unit of acceleration (and the associated scale) at shock motion of a solid body in the acceleration peak value range from 50 m/s2 to 5000 m/s2. The shock duration of the acceleration, whose shape is close to a haversine, is in the range from 1 ms to 10 ms (peak-value-dependent). A measurement uncertainty of 0,5 % is attained for the acceleration peak value and for the shock sensitivity (ratio of peak value of the output to peak value of the acceleration) of accelerometer standards.

The shock acceleration standard consists of

  • shock acceleration exciter
  • Laser interferometer with interferometer signal measuring system
  • System for measuring electrical output quantities of calibration objects (voltage or charge)
  • Two elastically suspended blocks for shock and vibration isolation
