Profile
Realization and dissemination of the unit of heat using calorimetry in accordance with Section 6 of the Units and Time Act (EinhZeitG) and Sections 45 and 47 of the Measures and Verification Act (MessEG).
This encompasses:
- the use of adiabatic precision calorimeters directly traceable to the system of units for the determination of heat capacities, reaction heats and heats of transition;
- the use of commercial calorimeters for tasks with lesser requirements with regard to the uncertainty or for tasks in extreme state ranges;
- the rendering of support to research and industry by means of calibration procedures and calibration materials which are adapted to the specific problems arising, and
- participation in the development of standards in several standardization organizations.
Conformity assessment of calorific value determination devices for gases in accordance with Section 14(3) of the Measures and Verification Act and Section 1(10) of the Measures and Verification Ordinance (MessEV).
This applies to the quantity calorific value of fuel gases and to the following measuring instruments:
- calorific value measuring devices for gases
- state reconstruction systems
- ancillary equipment (data storage devices, interface converters, etc.)
