If you would like to connect your POS system to a scale for open sales points, we would be happy to accompany you on the way to issuing a parts certificate.
As a first step, we would ask you to fill out and sign our application form and send it to the functional address waagen(at)ptb.de. The basis for the evaluation of POS systems are the following documents:
- WELMEC-Guide 2.2 "Guide for Testing Point of Sale (POS) devices (NAWI)"
- WELMEC-Guide 7.2 "Software Guide (2014/32/EU)"
- WELMEC-Guide 7.5 "Software in NAWI (2014/31/EU)"
Even after reading these documentats, questions will probably remain unanswered, which can be clarified in a personal conversation at the PTB, that also serves to coordinate your software concept. Parallel to the implementation of the software, they should create the
software documentation.
Once your documentation is in order (possibly after a few iterations), provide us with a test sample.
If the test sample has passed all tests, the parts certificate can be issued. We assure you that your documentation will be checked and the test sample will be evaluated within three months of receipt. Each iteration necessary to improve the documentation or the software is also evaluated within eight weeks.
