In the future, PTB will offer a digital workflow for its numerous metrological services. It is based on an electronic customer portal, digital calibration certificates and a platform (Metrology Cloud) which will enable the European exchange of metrological data in the future.

Als Nationales Metrologieinstitut forscht die PTB im Rahmen der „Qualitätsinfrastruktur Digital“ an Lösungen für die Metrologie von morgen. Dabei ist das Projekt Metrology Cloud entstanden. Ziel der Metrology Cloud ist die Transformation bestehender analoger Abläufe im gesetzlichen Messwesen in digitale Prozesse und die Bündelung auf einer einheitlichen Plattform.

Das AnGeWaNt-Projekt ist ein nationales Pilotprojekt zum Aufbau einer metrologischen digitalen Infrastruktur für das gesetzliche Messwesen. Das Verbundprojekt besteht aus sechs Partnern aus Industrie und Wissenschaft. Im Projekt werden zwei Schlüsselprozesse implementiert: der digitale Eichantrag und der Softwareupdateantrag. Dabei steht die digitale Transformation der Prozesse im Vordergrund.

In the long-term "QI-Digital" cooperation project, the key stakeholders of the national quality infrastructure (BAM, DAkkS, DIN, DKE and PTB) are developing quality infrastructure which meets the needs of the digital age and sets international standards for quality assurance in the 21st century.
