Due to this, hemolysis, which might destroy target cells in patients with diseases, can be avoided. Via a micro-channel system with hydrodynamic focusing, the blood sample is led to a sensor which measures the electric impedance (typically in a range from 1 MHz to 10 MHz). It is thus possible for the first time to determine concentrations easily and reliably by impedance measurements without staining or hemolysis in patients with diseases such as leukemia. (Technology Offer 0422)

no hemolysis
no (fluorescence) staining required
improved diagnosis of leukemia and anemia
low cost
