The future of the DKD Technical Committees is secured: PTB will take on the responsibility for this proven instrument of technical coordination between the calibration laboratories and PTB.
DKD Technical Committees go back to their roots
Due to the new regulation of the accreditation system in the EU Member States, as a result of which the accreditation body of the Deutscher Kalibrierdienst (DKD) was integrated into the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS) (German Accreditation Body), the role of and responsibility for the DKD Technical Committees were at first unclear. PTB therefore agreed to take on the patronage of the DKD Technical Committees, to supervise them technically and on an organisational basis, and – through its membership of EURAMET e.V. – to act as a link between the national and the European levels, e.g. in issuing calibration directives. As the DKD and also the DKD Technical Committees originally developed from PTB, the Technical Committees are thus going back to their roots.
