Successful audit as a family-friendly employer

01.04.2016

PTB underwent the “work and family audit” (audit “berufundfamilie”) for the first time last year. This ascertained that PTB already had comprehensive basic conditions which are beneficial for staff and that it offered support in combining work and family life before the audit took place. These things include the flexible organization of working time, matching the current stage of an employee’s life with individual regulations on part-time work and leave of absence, a combination of telework and work on-site at PTB, a day care center for babies of eight months up to kindergarten age children on the campus in Braunschweig, parent-child offices at both sites in Braunschweig and Berlin, workplace health management and much more.

Further measures were agreed for the future during the audit, which – apart from an improvement of the information provided both within PTB and externally – comprise the establishment of a Family Office as well as the targeted support of managerial staff in combining their management tasks with family life and in adapting their work life to the needs of a particular phase in life.

After the extensive audit, PTB was officially certified as a family-friendly employer in May 2015.
