Recharge simply everywhere!

The users of electric vehicles need an affordable infrastructure with wide coverage to recharge their batteries. This is the purpose of the Joint Project "On-Board Metering" (OBM). The concept of the partners (from the economic and research fields) involved in this project aims to transfer the metrological and communications devices, which are necessary for the acquisition and transmission of the data concerning the electric power charged, from the charging station to the vehicle. After completion of the first phase of the project, in which the basis of the system was implemented at laboratory scale, the second project phase, consisting in comprehensive field tests and a further development of the system, is now starting. This phase has been granted a follow-up funding by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), the ubitricity Gesellschaft für verteilte Energiesystem, the VOLTARIS enterprise as well as the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB).
