Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr.-Ing. E.h. Dieter Kind, former President of the PTB, received an international reward

On June 17, 1996, on the occasion of this year's International Symposium on Electrical Insulation (ISEI), the Thomas W. Dakin Award was presented to Prof. Dr. Ing. Dr.-Ing. E.h. Dieter Kind, the former president of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt.
This prize is the highest honour of the Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronical Engineers (IEEE) of the United States, and it is awarded every two years. It was granted to Prof. Kind for his excellent research work in the development of high-voltage systems with gaseous and solid insulating materials, which was carried out under his direction at the Braunschweig Technical University and at the PTB.
