As agreed with the German Accreditation Service (DAkkS) and with effect from 1 September 2018, the DKD had published all DAkkS-DKD guidelines and DAkkS-DKD guides – unchanged as regards content but with a new layout – as DKD guidelines and DKD guides.

With the introduction of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018, the general requirements for calibration certificates have also been updated. The German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) has now revised and published the regulations for the presentation of calibration results on calibration certificates.

In the future, the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) will no longer hold or publish rules of their own that only describe the so-called "state of the art" (Level 4 and 5). This is provided for in the revised regulatory concept of the DAkkS. Numerous documents in the field of metrology will therefore be transferred to the German Calibration Service (DKD).

Due to the extension of the harmonisation period of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 by the EU Commission until 30 June 2021, DKD and DAkkS have agreed on the extension of the transition period regarding the DAkkS-DKD Technical Guides and Guidelines as well as the use of the DKD symbol in calibration certificates according to the regulations laid out in document DAkkS-DKD-5.

The agreement between PTB and DAkkS on the use of the "DKD mark" on calibration certificates has now been extended until 30 June 2021. This extension was necessary to completely cover the time needed for the conversion to the revised standard DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018.
