A successful premiere for PTB: The 2015 IdeenExpo

For nine days in July 2015, many of PTB’s staff lived according to the motto: “We are at the IdeenExpo!” For the first time, PTB took part in this large annual fair focusing on sciences and technology which mainly addresses students.

The event was a roaring success, both for the fair itself (with a record of more than 350,000 visitors) and, especially, for the PTB stand. And this positive result was shared not only by the organizers and the staff at the stand, but also by external guests such as Ms. Heinen-Kljajić (Lower Saxony’s Minister of Science and Culture), Dr. Ole Janssen (Head of Directorate at the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy – BMWi) as well as by the organizers in charge of the IdeenExpo themselves. And the students, i.e. the actual target group, will most certainly also have had fun – even if it was intellectually demanding – at PTB’s stand. With a presentation of the diverse possibilities of training at PTB and a “guided tour” of the seven base units, PTB’s stand was both wide-ranging and challenging. After such a successful premiere for PTB, the motto has now become: “We will be at the IdeenExpo again!”
