PTB has implemented technical and organizational measures in accordance with Article 5 (1) f) and Article 32 of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to ensure that your data is protected against unauthorized or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage.

For this reason, your data will only be transmitted via the Internet using SSL encryption.

Below, PTB would like to inform you about the details of how your personal data will be processed in the context of the “MetroSommer” application procedure and about the rights granted to you by law.

I. Data Processing

1. General

The data and documents that you submit (letter of motivation, CV, certificates, etc.) contain personal data as defined by Article 4 No. 1 GDPR and are processed by PTB solely to the extent required for the purposes of participation in the “MetroSommer” program. This processing is done on the basis of Art. 88 (1) GDPR in conjunction with § 26 (1) of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

After receiving your data and documents, the responsible official will record and process your personal data. You will receive the official’s contact details together with PTB’s confirmation that your data and documents have been received.

Within PTB, your data will be forwarded to the responsible individuals or organizational units responsible for the particular subject areas.

Your data will be processed exclusively by PTB and will not be disclosed to third parties.

 3. Erasure of Your Data

Once recruitment for the internship slots has ended, your data and documents will be erased within no more than six (6) months. If you are selected for a “MetroSommer” internship position, your data and documents will be forwarded to the responsible official in the Personnel section.
PTB will then separately inform you as part of the hiring process about the general and specific legal regulations governing the further processing of your personal data.

You may, of course, withdraw your application at any time. To do so, simply send an email to metrosommer@ptb.de. Your data will then be erased immediately.
