- Die doppelt-differentielle Neutronenausbeute der Reaktion 9Be+d bei einer Deuteronenenergie von 3 MeV
Quellterm für thermischen Standard des NPL bestimmt. - Konstruktion und Fertigung einer TCAP-Streukammer
Zur Bestimmung der Fluenz monoenergetischer Neutronen mit der time correlated accociated particles Methode (TCAP) wurde eine massearme Streukammer entwickelt und gefertigt. Diese soll an der Ionen-Beschleunigeranlage PIAF der PTB betrieben werden. - Messung des differentiellen Neutron-Deuteron Streuquerschnitts im Energiebereich von 100 keV bis 600 keV mit einem Rückstossprotonenproportionalzählrohr
Neben der Nukleon-Nukleon-Streuung ist die Streuung eines Neutrons an einem Deuteron, d.h. an dem aus einem Neutron und einem Proton bestehenden Kern des schwereren Wasserstoffatoms 2H, einer der fundamentalen Prozesse in quantenmechanischen Wenigkörper-Systemen. - Die Lichtausbeutefunktion eines Flüssigszintillators für die Neutrinodetektion im Untergrundexperiment SNO+
Mit dem SNO+ Detektor sollen verschiedene Aspekte der Neutrinophysik untersucht werden. Der Detektor besteht aus einem Szintillatortank mit einen Durchmesser von 12 m, in dem die neutrinoinduzierten Ereignisse von etwa 10000 Photomultipliern detektiert werden. Als Flüssigszintillator wird lineares Alkylbenzol (LAB) als Lösungsmittel und 2,5-Diphenyloxazol (PPO) als primärer Szintillator verwendet. In einer Zusammenarbeit der Technischen Universität Dresden (TUD) und des Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) mit der PTB wurden am Flugzeitspektrometer der PTB die Protonenlichtausbeute aus dem von monoenergetischen Neutronen erzeugten Impulshöhenspektrum bestimmt und für verschiedene Kombinationen aus Lösungsmittel, primärem Szintillator und weiteren Komponenten untersucht.
