New calibration standards and methods for radiometry and photometry after phaseout of incandescent lamps (22IEM05 NEWSTAND)

09.06.2023

The EPM Project “New calibration standards and methods for radiometry and photometry after phaseout of incandescent lamps (22IEM05 NEWSTAND)” is set to start on June 1st 2023 for a three-year funding period

The aim of this project is to provide adequate and affordable replacement transfer standard light sources and alternative procedures for detector based transfer of the spectral irradiance unit in the ultraviolet visible near infrared spectral range.
New transfer standards for the dissemination of the unit of spectral irradiance after the phase-out of incandescent lamps, which are currently used as transfer standards, are needed for measurements of artificial and natural sources of optical radiation by various end-users in industrial, environmental, medical or scientific applications.

At PTB Saulius Nevas, Peter Sperfeld, Thorsten Gerloff and Kerstin Schwind are involved. The project is coordinated by Saulius Nevas at PTB and involves 14 NMIs/Dis, 1 Research Institute and 2 Companies as partners. For more information visit this website:  www.ptb.de/epm2022/newstand/home
