4-Hour Current Diagram

Construction of the MLS started back in 2004 with the ground-breaking ceremony. The building (Willy-Wien-Laboratory) was designed by Henn Architects, the storage ring is constructed by BESSY under contract of PTB. In early 2006, the building was finished. By the end of 2006, the microtron accelerator has been installed; the storage ring construction was completed in spring 2007. Commissioning started mid of April 2007. User operation began April 2008.
