... represents new research groups initiated by the excellence cluster QUEST that are located on the PTB campus in Braunschweig. The center for „Quantum Engineering and Space-Time Research“ devotes its work to the study of fundamental questions in physics related to gravity and cosmological models and the development of new quantum sensors for experimental tests.
In this spirit „QUEST at PTB“ will work on experimental quantum metrology, develop new quantum sensors and explore novel techniques in ultra-high precision spectroscopy, ion trapping and the development of superstable lasers for the next generation of optical clocks. The groups hold close connection to the Leibniz University in Hannover, where they will engage in the teaching curriculum and work in close cooperation with each other as well as with various departments at PTB.
