Precision mechanic

The assignment as a precision mechanic covers fabrication of complex devices, machines, plants and systems.

These are produced with conventional and program controlled machine-tools. The precision mechanic plans, controls, inspects and estimated his own work results with modern testing methods and inspection devices to achieve highest requirement-based quality.
His standard of work is intended by tasks of control and feedback control systems, computer-aided technology (CNC, CAD/CAM, CAQ) as well as a high-precision mode of operation.
Often he will work with smallest component parts which has to be exact in the range
of 1/1000 mm. He joins component parts and component assemblies to complex units. If required he installs these units at the customer and instructs him about the handling of the machines and devices. The precision mechanic executes maintenance schedule and repairs and advises the customers.

Imparting knowledges and talents:

  • professional training, industrial and collective bargaining law
  • structure and organization of the training enterprise
  • security and health protection with the work
  • environmental protection
  • operational, technical and customer-oriented communication
  • scheduling and managing of the working day as well as control and assessment of the work results
  • quality management
  • testing and measuring
  • joining
  • manual machining and forming
  • mechanical machining
  • maintaining of operating resources
  • distinguishing, identification and handling of materials and process materials
  • programming of numercally controlled devices, machines and equipment
  • mechanical machining on machine-tools with various processing methods
  • setting up of hydraulic, pneumatic and electropneumatical controls
  • installing and implementing
  • maintaining of technical systems

Key course element: precision mechanics

Installing and implementing

  • Building up of component assemblies considering the single and overall function into electromechanical and optical devices and systems.
  • making of models and testing sites
  • testing the function of assemblies, adjusting mechanical and electriacal values

Testing and Measuring

  • selecting measuring systems and instruments in purpose of use
  • testing electrical and electronical components and adjusting them
  • measuring of pressure, volumes, temperatures, pressure and temperature differences with electrical and optical measuring instruments
