KALKOM   Pkal   ThreadEA10/10

KALKOM
Version 4

KALKOM serves to determine the geometric errors of coordinate measuring machines (components of measurement errors according to VDI/VDE 2617 sheet 3) on the basis of measurements carried out on calibrated ball or hole plates. The time required to determine all error components is approximately 8 hours, depending on the measurement volume and the working speed of CMM. The results of KALKOM can be used for:

  • the numerical correction of CMMs
  • the estimate of the uncertainty of the CMM's length measurements
  • the estimate of the task-specific measurement uncertainty for any measurement task made with the aid of MEGAKAL
  • contains the simulation module of the Virtual CMM for the calculation of residuals (rest deviations)
  • for CMMs of portal, bridge or gantry type

PKAL

PKAL serves to calibrate ball or hole plates on coordinate measuring machines by the swing-round method. Comparison measurements with laser interferometers or 1D standards (gauge block, ball beam) can be used to establish traceability to the unit of length. The results are a calibration table stating the coordinates of the balls or boreholes measured, and diagrams representing the reproducibility of the individual measurements, the CMM's measurement errors and the change of the plate compared with a preceding calibration.

Thread measurement; Software for calculation of pitch diameter (d2) and indicated value (m)

The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt developed a software according to the guideline EA-10/10 (April 1999). This software allows to calculate the pitch diameter and indicate value of thread measurements. This software should become a reference for testing the algorithms. A beta release of the program ThreadEA10/10 can be called by www and supports all common internet browsers.
