An example for a consultation service is the support at measurement problems in room acoustics and musical acoustics

At the assessment of musical performances in specially worked out rooms can arise uncertainties that for lack of  expertise can lead to straining costs. In that case the competence of the staff at  working group 1.73 "Raumakustik" can be offered to assist solving problems. In particular it can be drawn from a store of a more than 45 year old activity in matters of  musical instrument acoustics in the former laboratory of musical acoustics. That relates both to the physical functions of musical instruments and the special measurement techniques to find out the acoustic parameters. Likewise the effect of instruments in music rooms and the use of different playing techniques are known.
