Tasks

To acquire flow velocity and flow rate new optical sensors are developed and applied. The measurement equipment covers traversible 1-D, 2-D, 3-D laser Doppler anemometers (LDA), laser Doppler profile sensors and a Doppler global velocimeter system (DGV) to measure complete 3-d velocity vector fields. These sensors are applied to a test facility for gas flow rates and to a facility to investigate flow profiles in pipes influenced by installations effect and the dependence of flow profiles on gas turbine meter readings. To calibrate anemometers also wind tunnels come into operation.
