The
granting of type approvals for measuring instruments which are used in
road traffic (speedometers) falls within the province of PTB. The
Working Group "IT Measuring Instruments for Traffic Enforcement" of
Department 1.3 "Velocity", supports manufacturers in the development of
the device software of speedometers. Type testing is increasingly
focussed on digital single-spot cameras or video cameras which are used
to document the traffic situation and, to an ever increasing extent,
also on the software-supported analysis of complex traffic situations.
Here, the main focus is on the software which must guarantee
real-time-capable triggering of the camera, the interpretation of the
image information and tamper-proof storage of the image files. The
partial approval tests which are required in this connection are
carried out by the Working Group "IT Measuring Instruments for Traffic
Enforcement". |
