[PTB] Communication - as, for example, about actual petrol prices - takes place at petrol filling stations not only between customers and the people at the cash register. Also the individual devices of a petrol station facility communicate actively with one another. The price readout, for example, must be informed daily of the price changes, the tank fill level measurement must give information on the current tank content and the filling pump must communicate with the cash register system. To avoid "misunderstandings" occurring in this dialogue, the data passed on by the individual devices must not be incorrectly transmitted. The networking of the individual elements must function with-out problem - plug together and ready. This is made possible by the interface technology EPSI (European Petrol Station Interface) developed by the PTB in a cooperation. From 16th to 21st Sep-tember 2008, an opportunity is provided to become informed of the technical background and the features of the system at the Automechanika in Frankfurt am Main.
