About the profound significance of mass

[ptb]  Regardless of whether asparagus and strawberries are entered on Grandma Bolte's shopping list or soy and pork halves are on the stockbroker's - the exact weight is always of great importance, because here it is a matter of money, sometimes of a great deal of money. In trade and industry, but also in re-search, the unit of mass is of central importance. Under the title "Masse und abgeleitete mechanische Größen" (mass and derived mechanical quantities) it is given its own focus in the PTB-Mitteilungen, which will be extended over two editions. The newest edition of the metrological trade journal and official news-letter of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) is immediately avail-able in bookshops or directly from the Wirtschaftsverlag NW, Bremerhaven.
