[ptb] Whether it's ionizing radiation, revolutions or flow rates - the newly developed data logger of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) can count everything that can be expressed in impulses - and that speedily. And with its size of 9 cm x 6 cm x 2 cm, it even fits into every trouser pocket. Four devices can be connected simultaneously to the small box, and the four fast, independent counters can record up to 100 million impulses per second (100 MHz). The data logger stores its measurement results on a commercially available SD memory board so that the restricted capacity of internal memories is now a thing of the past. It is particularly suited for long-term monitoring at places which - due to risks for human health - are difficult to access. At the same time, it is in a position to graphically represent measurement values on its brilliant OLED screen. This innovation can be seen at the Metrology Fair SENSOR+TEST from May 6 to 8, 2008 in Nuremberg (hall 8, stand 8221).
